What it is worth
Copper is the floor under most of this equipment, and it is a floor that moves. Bus bar, windings and feeder cable set a minimum value we can always pay on a Sacramento lot; resale demand for the specific make and model is what lifts the offer above it. Northern California and the Sierra foothills are dominated by utility wildfire-mitigation and undergrounding programs, and PG&E distribution equipment coming off those programs is a genuine and continuing source. Two things shape almost every California job: seismic anchoring means the gear is braced and bolted far more heavily than in the East, and the state is long enough that scheduling is a routing problem, not a clearance problem.
