Salem, OR: Substations Purchase and Removal

Coverage in Salem is run off our Oregon routing along I-5, I-84, Highway 26 and Highway 97. Coordination with Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, Eugene Water and Electric Board, Central Lincoln PUD on clearances, metering removal and final disconnect is part of the scope, not a change order. Oregon is concentrated and easy to route: most of what we buy sits within an hour of I-5. Hillsboro and the Sunset Corridor are the reason — the semiconductor cluster there runs some of the most sophisticated electrical distribution in the West, and fab retooling releases clean-room power distribution, unit substations and motor control centers with excellent documentation. Portland adds a large stock of older industrial buildings in the Central Eastside and along the Willamette being converted to office and light manufacturing, plus port and rail infrastructure and a steel and metals legacy in North Portland. Down the valley, Eugene and Springfield are wood products, paper and food processing, all of which run heavy motor loads and the switchgear to match. Eastern Oregon is agricultural processing, irrigation pumping and the data center build-out around Boardman, Hermiston and Prineville. Pacific Power and PGE both run substantial grid-hardening and wildfire-mitigation programs that retire distribution transformers and switchgear continuously. The Port of Portland gives an export-bound lot a berth without a long haul.

Paperwork travels with the job: a certificate of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, a signed purchase agreement listing every asset and its price, oil test and disposal manifests where transformers are in scope, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the Salem site. Maintenance, EHS and accounting each get the document they need.
