Las Vegas, NV: Transformers Purchase and Removal

Nevada has fewer cities than any other state on this site and more electrical equipment per city than most. Las Vegas is the reason: casino and resort properties carry building electrical systems on the scale of small industrial plants, and renovation, rebranding and demolition cycles on the Strip and downtown release switchgear, switchboards, transformers and generator sets in quantity and on short notice. Add the convention and arena infrastructure, the hospital build-out across the valley, and the warehouse and distribution corridor toward North Las Vegas that serves the whole Southwest. Reno and Sparks are the industrial half of the state — the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, battery and vehicle manufacturing, data centers, and the logistics operations that exist because Nevada can reach California overnight without California costs. Mining across the Carlin Trend and the Humboldt Basin runs mill and crusher installations with medium-voltage switchgear and large motor control centers, and those sites replace gear on wear rather than on age. Distances between jobs are long here, so we route Nevada work against our California and Utah schedule and pass the savings into the offer. For Las Vegas specifically, that density helps: crews already move through Las Vegas, Reno, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Sparks and Carson City, so mobilization is a scheduling question rather than a cost problem.

If the Las Vegas equipment is still carrying load, we phase it. Usually that means dead sections and spares first, then distribution as circuits are released, then the main line-up once the last feeder is isolated. The phasing goes into the offer so nobody is improvising in an energized room at two in the morning.
